To bad the Packers didn't keep Taylor! Paul was getting jury prone and not the player he use to be, i think Jim would have been a great asset, 2 year contract wouldnt have killed the Packers, but Lombardi was to business like sometimes, like poor Ken Bowman!

Marino's 1984 and 86 years were unreal for the era of the 80s. 5,084/4,746 yards and 48/44 tds. In the entire 1980s just 10 qbs threw 4,000 compared to 2011 when 11 accomplish that feat.

I don't remember the LA Rams wearing blue and white uniforms rather blue and gold ones . I remember how I would watch the local teams play and the Big Games were the talk of the town like Pitt and Penn State or the Steelers playing teams like the Raiders or the Colts or the Cowboys or teams like that. But I can also recall the Big Games that were played and showcased on network TV .I remember watching the teams like the LA Rams and Michigan Wolverines playing on either Saturday Afternoon or Sunday Evening. I thought that both the Rams and the Wolverines had some of the coolest outfits .One year not long before the Holliday Seasons and inparticular Christmas my parents had me come in their bedroom and they showed me a gift that they would give my brother on Christmas. The gift was an Official LA Rams Helmet that was both blue and gold and I remembered that that I thought and felt that that helmet was one of the coolest looking things that I had ever seen before in my life. It was a classic moment in my life and left with the kind of feeling that you get or atleast I did when I would watch the opening of Monday Night Football and hear that iconic song play as the announcers particularly one Howard Coselle would introduce the the teams and talk to usually both Dandy Don Merideth and Frank Gifford about the importance of the game and some times there were some other color commentators like Keith Jackson or the " Do you believe in miracles " guy AL Michael's and still others like either OJ Simpson or Broadway Joe Namoth and guys like that .In someway it is kind of like the beginning lines in the book I think that is called the GO Betweens where as the author says something about the past being a different kind of place and that is what I guess that I am currently feeling like when it concerns thins about the past .I do still deep down with in side of me cherish those times but they are of a bygone era inwhich I guess like once the Singer Davey Jones once had said that it is better left there with in the past. BILL ZEEDICKS AND THE BIG BLUE COLLAR 💙 😎 🎶 😍 ♥️ 👌 💙 CATS 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 💙 😀 😄 🐈.......

1966, the year the Lions changed from their traditional Honolulu blue to a more conventional royal blue, like the Colts. The Lions returned to Honolulu blue in 1967.

This was the first game I ever watched to see Dallas get trounced, having been too young to stay up late for the 1970 MNF Cardinal Hitchcock massacre. And the Viking bloodbath wasn't available on our station. The Neft/Cohen NFL Encyclopedia described the 1972 Cowboys aptly. "They still had an embarrassment of riches with second stringers who would easily have started for other teams. But they lacked the fine competitive edge of their 1971 World Championship team. They no longer had that top gear to win games, As NFL Films narrated, they looked like a middle aged team in the Conference Title game against Washington, none of the same fire that had them take the last 10 games in 1971.I guess it's hard to replicate the intensity and hunger of winning a first SB.

Before the Raiders and Steelers rivalry it was the Raiders vs Dolphins rivalry. This would be the 3rd time that Raiders and Dolphins squared off in the playoffs. People forget about how big this rivalry and this game really was.

Three Rivers was a house of horrors for the Browns who went 0-16 there until they went 4-0 from 1986-1989. Then the Browns went 1-8 there from 1990-2000 for a record of 5-24 at the Confluence. It took a Cleveland guy in Chuck Noll to start the Pittsburgh dominance, a Pittsburgh guy in Marty Schottenheimer to change Cleveland’s fortunes and a guy from Pittsburgh who played in Cleveland (Bill Cowher) to change things back to the Steelers’ favor.

I remember this week. Playing on the Bengals we had the week off.. We had the beginning of a great idea for the following week. We already had Anthony Munoz and his steaming logs but we also had Max Mintoya eat 20 pounds of cheese curds and vomit on the ball and at the line on passing downs. The volume of filth made the line slick with noxious curds and slowed the defense enough that we didn't give up any sacks.
